Laundry piled on a chair, a window’s reflection on the floor, mist rising over a grassy field; these paintings are of familiar moments and scenes of everyday life. Quiet pieces in size and subject matter, they follow an old tradition of painting life as it is. The gradual process of painting, and detailed rendering, lend a meditative quality to the work. Soft edges and pale colours offer a sense of calm, and welcome the viewer to pause and contemplate the inherent beauty in ordinary moments.
